Oneohtrix Point Never is musician, composer and producer Daniel Lopatin. Active under the moniker since 2007, his 2013 release of R Plus Seven on prominent British label Warp demonstrated new levels of the producer's compositional complexity. He appears at Berghain in support of his new album, Garden of Delete, to be released on the same date.
Inspired by his native New York City, Lopatin’s pieces take on a narrative quality: synthetic, mirrored mazes littered with references to the glitter-trash contemporary consumer sound both uncannily familiar and profoundly strange.
Lopatin founded Brooklyn-based Software Recording Company and has collaborated with a multitude of talented artists and musicians. As he has risen to prominence, his catalogue has grown to include pieces commissioned by museums and esteemed organizations and festivals, as well as film scores and production credits. His unique approach to composition and creation has proven him to be an influential and significant figure of the modern soundscape.
Lopatin's appearance is a collaboration between CTM, Melt! Booking and Intro Magazine.
