Cakes Da Killa, the New York rapper who spits rapid-fire, ruthlessly witty tongue twisters over pulse-racing, dance-inspired beats, has quickly earned a loyal international following.
As early as 2011, Cakes began releasing mixtapes that would lead to world tours and major campaigns helping fuel the dialogue around LGBTQ + acceptance in urban music. He has since appeared in various online and print publications such as Hot 97, Beats1 Radio, Vh1’s Love & Hip Hop: Out in Hip Hop special and the Netflix original series Rhythm + Flow.
Performances for Red Bull Music Academy and Afropunk as well as collaborations with diverse artists such as Peaches, LSDXOXO and Honey Dijon have further elevated the artist among the elite of New York City’s underground sound.
Following his mixtape Eulogy (2013) and his debut album Hedonism (2016), Cakes Da Killa is currently wrapping up his sophomore album to be released in the summer of 2020. First singles Luv Me Not and Wild 4 The Night are scheduled for early spring 2020.
